A friendly, self-explanatory web site guides the customer through programming their thermostat in three easy steps. Programs can be updated any time from any location with Internet access. For additional savings, customers can use the web site to program the operation of equipment connected to Virtual Gateway modules as well. RTPstat thermostats and Virtual Gateway load control modules are ideal for implementing Time-Of-Use or Critical-Peak-Pricing strategies. The pricing schedule chart is incorporated into the web site customers use to set up their programs, making it simple for them to adjust their power usage accordingly. Our technology also supports Real-Time-Pricing. In addition to setting up customary thermostat programs via the Web, customers also configure their desired threshholds for comfort versus cost. As price levels vary throughout the day, the web server automatically curtails each customer as necessary according to their own preferences. Both customer programs and utility commands are transmitted to the thermostats using existing commercial paging systems.
